Shear Pump Working Principle
The
petroleum drilling fluid shear pump mainly uses centrifugal force to suck the
drilling fluid from the pump inlet, and through the rotation of the impeller,
generates centrifugal force to push the drilling fluid to the outlet. In this
process, the impeller of the shear pump shears and stirs the drilling fluid to
make it evenly mixed to achieve better drilling results.
The
shearing impeller has a special design, it utilizes the following methods of
shearing:
--Fluid
enters the pump through the inlet ports and impacts the shear plate.
--Fluid
passes through the teeth of the shear plate, which is turning at 2,200 RPM.
--Fifty
percent of the fluid is re-circulated through the four nozzle scoops and is
jetted through 44 nozzles against the shear plate and incoming fluid.
